Click Rotary Chimney Rod 15mm (5/8") x 1 meter (39") - Made in the USA!
The standard color is black, the white rods are lead "indicator" rods to know when your whip head is about to be to you when coming back down. Unless noted by you in the order notes box.... If you get 6 rods, one will be white and if you buy 10 or 12 two will be white.
This rod is stiffer than the 1/2"- (12mm) and is used within flues of 200mm (8 inch) up to 450mm (18 inch). The rod is primarily used for fireplaces, unlined flues and ducting. A 1/2"- (12 mm) Click Rod may be used as the lead rod if extra flexibility is needed due to offsets or bends in the flue. Likewise for large flues over 12" x 16" internal some of our even stiffer 3/4" (18mm) rods interspersed every other rod will help stiffen the assembled rods so they don't flop about.
The rods are designed to be used with a cordless drill and purpose built drill driver, this rotates the rod and selected head using Centrifugal force. Simply fit the head to the white leader rod and use the drill to drive it into the flue, add another rod and repeat until at the top. Once there reverse the rotation on the drill and go back down rod by rod. The co-polymer strands remove the deposits as the user controls the speed and direction with the drill. For ease of use we provide two colours of rod currently black and white this allows you to have a leader or marker rod, this way you don’t have to worry about keeping count when sweeping. Due to the click lock system you may rotate our rods clockwise or counter-clockwise depending on your preference, this is something you cannot do with a traditional chimney rod as it would unscrew within the flue. The head is designed to fit centrally inside the flue/liner comfortably gliding around bends, allowing the co-polymer strands to do the work and remove the deposits with ease, this avoids any unwanted surface tension that could cause unseen damage to the flue. Our power rotary heads can also clean a spark screen while sweeping from the bottom so you no longer have to climb on the roof when cleaning is required.
If you have restricted access it is always recommended that you add the chimney rod guide, this will insure that the rods are protected from any sharp or protruding obstacles, which could damage the rods before or upon entry into the flue/liner.
All of our Rodtech parts have been checked prior to manufacture and have been comprehensively tested during the quality control stage, upon passing every item is signed off before being packed ready for dispatch ensuring the customer receives the highest quality available.
