These aluminum rods are ideally suited for rotary sweeping with a cordless drill, flues and ducting with a range of sizes upwards of 600mm (24 inches).
When confronted by a large flue, such as an inglenook, (600mm/24 inches and above) a chimney sweep should use this rod together with the Rodtech click 18mmx1000mm solid chimney rod When using this rod in conjunction with the 18mm solid rotary chimney rods, it is advisable to use a solid rod as a leader rod and intersperse the solid and aluminum rods so that the entire shaft of rods has a small amount of flexibility. This also stops skittering, which is when rods made of one solid material can shake.
These rods are best used with a minimum 24v (ideally 36v) cordless power drill or cordless drill with 90Nm or torque.
